The Most Entertaining Places in Utah to Swim Year Round

Kids love to play in the water, which is great because it keeps them busy so you can relax, and it allows them to get their exercise. Unfortunately, if you live in Utah, outdoor swimming weather is only around for about four months. Fortunately, Utah is home to some great swimming facilities, both indoors and outdoors, like this list of swimming pools open throughout the year.

Lakes and Reservoirs

Even though you can’t swim in these areas the whole year, you can still save a little money and enjoy the sunshine by taking your kids to these mostly free outdoor swim places located all over Utah. Look for the nearest location to you for a great activity to last all summer long.

Public Pools

You might want to look into packages and year-long passes to save a little money for the places listed below, but each of these pools is a great place to take the kids for entertainment and exercise at a small cost per head.

South Davis Rec Center—This indoor pool located in Bountiful offers a lazy river, lap pool, shallow area with a play structure, water slide, and a hot tub for the adults.

Scera Park Pool—Located in Orem, this huge, outdoor pool features lap pools, multiple fun slides, a bubble couch, a splash pad and water playground, play structures, a leisure pool, and a beach entry pool.

Surf ‘n Swim—Though it’s an outdoor pool, this water park located in Layton is open year round. (They place a bubble dome over the pool in the winter to keep it warm.) It has a beach entry pool that turns into a wave pool every fifteen minutes.

Northwest Rec Center Pool—Near the airport in Salt Lake City, this indoor pool has lap pools, a beach entry pool, and plenty of slides and play structures to keep the kids happy.

Lehi Legacy Center Pool—This indoor pool in Lehi has tons of attractions the whole family will love, including a lap pool, beach entry pool with plenty of play structures, a lazy river, a hydrotube, a toddler play structure, mini water slides, and a shallow area for the little ones.
